St. Martin In the Fields - Today & Tomorrow
Stability that Allows for Change
Drawing on the rich heritage of Anglican, Celtic and American traditions, St. Martin's seeks to provide both continuity and diversity to produce a sense of stability which allows for change. The principles of the Oxford movement continue to inform the perspective and approach of this congregation, keeping alive a commitment to individual spritiual growth and congregational development through educational and social ministry programs. A strong Anglo-Catholic identity insures an equal commitment to sound liturgical practices and support for our Episcopal Church polity.
A Warm and Caring Community
St. Martin's is a warm and caring community which values the development of lay ministries and devotes considerable effort to the discernment of individual talents and training for their use. All aspects of our life together include young and elderly, men and women, married and single. Children and teens participate fully in our activities and have their own sense of identity as a part of our community.
We Welcome All in His Image
We welcome animal companions into our parish life as we seek to comprehend the wonders of God's creation and strive to understand our own role as Creatures made in His image and His partners in bringing about the fullness of His Kingdom.
New Ideas and Fresh Perspectives
As we enter the 21st Century, we will prayerfully work to meet the challenges of new ideas and fresh perspectives in the certainty that God's continuing interaction with us, the example and presence of Our Lord, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit will allow us to continue our growth as Christ's Body and our service to the world in His Name.
