Funerals at St. Martin In the Fields

Overview

It is a privilege to assist those who grieve. Therefore, St. Martin's strives to be of service to individuals seeking burial for family members or friends, including animal companions.

Services can be held in Funeral Homes or at the Church. The needs of the individuals involved determine much of the structure for these services within the guidelines provided by the episcopal Book of Common Prayer.

In General

In general, these services provide an occasion for giving thanks for the gift of an individual life. They are also a time for expressing confidence that, having ben given our lives through the love of God, our Creator does not abandon us to death. It is our belief that the Holy One, who has been made known to us through Jesus Christ, accepts us and takes us to a new home through that same love. Finally, our services seek to confirm our hope through the comfort which the Holy Spirit imparts to those who mourn during their prayers and meditation.

No Fees are Charged for these Services

No Fees are charged for these services, although it is customary to make a donation to the Church and clergy in consideration for their time and expenses. Funeral Homes have their own schedule of fees and must be dealt with directly for all arrangements involving them.
